Personal loan company Republic Finance announced a new educational initiative that seeks to help consumers save and spend their money more wisely.
MoneySKILL—launched on the Republic Finance website in partnership with the American Financial Services Association (AFSA) Education Foundation—is a free online personal finance course that features 10 e-learning modules where users can increase their knowledge on financial topics.
Republic Finance’s MoneySKILL portal can be found at www.republicfinance.com/moneyskill
Sample courses include:
- Budgeting
- Saving
- Auto finance
- Money management
And more.
The company hopes to champion financial well-being through these courses and to deepen the trust with its customer base. In addition to MoneySKILL, Republic Finance launched its educational blog series with completely original content in early 2022.
“Our customers are our primary target for our educational projects,” says Ashley Ponsaa, Marketing Manager at Republic Finance. “But we’re hoping MoneySKILL spreads far and wide. For example, the course would be useful in classrooms and universities, where young adults are just setting out on their own or joining the workforce.”
This goal is shared by the AFSA Education Foundation (the creators of MoneySKILL) Executive Director Rhonda Ashburn.
“We’re excited to welcome Republic Finance into the MoneySKILL network,” says Rhonda. “We believe that offering people financial education when they're engaged in the loan process is a powerful way to help them maintain better credit and remain on the path to a healthier future, money-wise.”
Ponsaa says that new educational offerings, including the e-courses and website content, are how Republic Finance demonstrates that its company pillar of being people-first is more than just talk. She says that her company will continue to act as a champion for financial health, both online and in the communities where it operates.
